about

In the year 2019 The MFA recorded the album "Death Ska". The album was set to release in the spring of 2020 & big plans for the release were to ensue, however we all know how that turned out. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the band to push the release date for Death Ska & all of its campaign. The decision was made to finally release "Death Ska on September 11th 2020. On that day the band was driving to a TV Studio in Vancouver, WA to do a livestream event as a sort of digital release party, the sky was red because at the time the pacific northwest was having some of the worst wildfires in history, the city of Portland was in a state of disarray & on the brink of martial law in the wake of the protests of justice for the murder of George Floyd, it was the eve of the 20th year anniversary of 9/11 & we were in the midst of COVID. I remember smoking a cigarette with my bandmates in the back of the studio & saying "I officially can say this is the worst day in history". Here we were trying to promote a light-hearted comedic album about partying, skating & having fun with your friends when quite literally the world was on fire, there was nothing fun or funny happening in that moment. Essentially in that moment the concept for this record was born.

Post Apocalypse Depression is a concept album with each of the songs being a topic that may cause stress, resentment or sadness, if you add enough of those together you end up with depression. The albums overall message is that of hope, the album starts as an angry middle finger to the things that cause grief but ends with a feeling of acceptance & optimism for the future.

The album is meant to be listened to as single piece rather than 9 songs on a record. We made this as a love letter to everyone who has ever supported us over the last decade ............
We've loved.
We've lost
We put up one hell of a fight
The Memories I'll hold so dearly until the day that I Die.....
